The best thing to do to make them blend in is to take really sharp scissors or a serrated edge and (dont cut) slide the blade down the length of the layer and i basically "shaves" the ends so that they blend together because it makes the layers thinner.

When my hairstylist cuts my hair she lifts sections off the top of my head & cuts them to an equal length. Try sectioning off some hair down your hairline & evening it out. Then take another section from one side of the hairline & evening it out. And so on & so forth. I don't know if that made much sense but basically you'd be lifting your hair above your head to layer it. Once your hair returns back to lying on your head it should be layered evenly & hopefully not as choppy. Exactly what did you do to layer your hair?
