Do you mean wedding favors?

Lots of people just do a little tulle baggie of mints or almonds.

But you could also do bookmarks, or a piece of fruit, or a piece of chocolate, or a bag of cookies, or boxed piece of wedding cake or groom's cake, or a postcard of your location, or a little candle, or a photo frame...

There is a trend lately to tell your guests you gave the favor money to charity, but this new practice is actually bad manners. (Giving to charity is not bad manners, but telling your guests you gave to charity instead of giving them a wedding favor IS bad manners. It's vulgar to tell people where you donate to charity AND it's disrespectful to your guests to redirect a gift before it was even given.)

Ok, here's what I am doing for my best friend's wedding. I am making a slideshow with Kodak photo studio and setting it to music. The slides will be pictures of the bride and groom growing up with their families and pictures of the couple since they have been a couple. We are designing a nice cover and making a copy for everyone at the wedding. We thought this would be a much more personal and memorable gift than just a candle, flower or cheap craft.

We had candles (you can by the wax in sheets then just cut heat and roll) and boxes of homemade cookies. Then again we only had about 60 guests so that ment only 30 boxes of cookies at 6 cookies each..so really not to much baking involved. It kind of depends on how big your wedding is. You don't want to get tied up making 150 wedding favors.....in that case your catering company could probably do the hershy kisses in tule thing.

Good luck

I'm not sure of the theme or color of you wedding but there are so many little things you could set on the table for your guests to take home as a memory. What about an origami paper crane with the date, your name, and your husband's name on it. I think that would be cute. Or you could do little candles with glass holders and decorate the glass holders. Just think about somethign creative or flip through a craft book.

Give everyone a rose. (One that won't die...read on.) Buy alot of hershey kisses (you will need 2 per person. I recommend the ones that are wrapped in the basic silver wrap. Get some double stick tape and tape 2 kisses to each other, bottom to bottom. Get some floral wire (may need to cut each wire in half, depending how long of a "rose" you want) and stick through one of the points. Buy any of the following in your wedding colors: foil, saran wrap, or crepe paper. Wrap the saran wrap tightly around the kisses, and also a little bit over the floral wire. Take green floral tape and wrap over the length from the bottom point of the bottom hershey kiss to the end. Add one or 2 artificial rose leaver as you're taping, and presto...a never dying rosebud for each guest. (You can also tie or tape in a ribbon tied to a slip of paper that has you and your hubby's names and wedding date.)

I do have to warn you...Most of this can be done by yourself in your free time, but you MAY want to have a 2nd person around when it comes to wrapping the floral tape.... Floral tape tends to have a mind of it's own when it comes to this project. (Trust me...I've helped 3 different friends use this as a favor for their weddings.) The most expensive thing on the materials list will be the Hershey Kisses, but you can check at your local grocery stores and see if you can buy them in bulk.

Materials needed:
Hershey Kisses
Double Stick Tape (or superglue...would hold a little better, but I've always used tape)
Floral Wire
Floral Tape
Saran Wrap/Foil/Crepe Paper (in your wedding colors, cut into about a 3 by 3 inch square)
Artificial Rose Petals
Ribbon/String (if you do tags)
Paper/Cardstock (if you do tags)

Choclate. You can make homemade fudge or candy and wrap it in some colored foil and put it in cute little boxes or I have heard of people making a cake that they love or that has to do with their heritage and they put it in little cute cake boxes and tie it with a ribbon or a bow. You need something edible thats the best thing you can give to your guest.

I personally think that anything you hand make means more. I am having a small goodie bag of treats for my guests as favors. We didnt want cd's with our theme songs, or photos of us or bookmarks (unless they like books).

I was told that many people simply get rid of the favors, so what better way than to make it something edible??

You can go to http://www.uline.com and fine bags for really cheap to put the treats in.

Good luck!

We bought cups and saucers in the colour of our wedding (we got a set of 4 for really cheap and they are really pretty) and we are making chocolate to put in them. Everyone has said its a great Idea as they will be able to use them again and it helps to add to our colour theme.

Good Luck!

My daughter is getting married on April 28th and we are on a very low budget....we are going to set Hersheys kisses on the table around the decorations. Her colors are chocolate brown and pink so I think around Valentines day we will get to buy pink kisses very cheap. That is the only favor we are doing and it will be very inexpensive. Congrats on your wedding and best of luck to you!!!

Letters telling them what they mean to you. All your wedding guests? Yikes! How about a heart shape cookie in a cute little bag from bagandbows.com and a note of thanks for their love and care
