I've known this guy for 11 years (since 1st grade) we both liked eachother in elementary school but than i moved in 3rd grade. once i moved i would rarely ever see him. He came to my 9th and 10th birthday party, than we stopped talking. I contacted him in 6th grade and we talked, he told me how much he liked me. we lost contact. I saw him in my hometown in 8th grade and weve been talking ever since, this past summer i told him that i liked him again and he didnt really show any interest, is there no chance for me? OH and hes coming with me to my Winterball this month..

Theoretically you are a senior (12th grade). Between fourth and sixth grades everything changes. Puberty hits, and boys minds (and hearts) become fluid (elastic). Until the boy is 22 you cant know whether you have a chance or not.

Its unlikely that he will have anything more than the mental and emotional ghosts of the childhood friendship he had with you.

This might be a "Me and Charlie Talkin' " moment for you.

If he is coming to your Winterball with you, there is probably something there. This is not exactly, buy a ring, a dress and set a date time, but there is some mutual affection there.

I was in love with a boy too when I was that young and we got back together after being apart. I realized I only loved and cared for him as a friend, so I broke up with him. He was very hurt, and it still hurts me to know that I hurt him so much. He might not be into you anymore because so much time has passed. Make sure though because you may not want to take someone to the dance with you if he's not into you. He could end up dancing with other girls and it'll ruin your night. Make this dance all about YOU, not about some guy that's messing with your emotions.

Sure there is a chance. You've kept in touch over the past 11 years even with moves, etc.
There must be some attraction there on his part.

sounds like he just likes you as a friend..but sometimes......friendship turns to love...the best kind! so hang in there, be his friend....dont go overboard telling him how much you like him etc....or that will push him away...let him discover what a nice gal you are....talk about future plans..etc. if he is coming with you to the winterball, he may care just a lil bit. good luck.

Probably not. Don't give up yet though. Just play the waiting game.
