My friend's daughter flew domestic alone when she was 4.
The airlines are very careful to look after unaccompanied minors.

My little sister has been flying alone on domestic flights since she has been about 11. I'm not sure what the actual cut off is though.

I'm not sure, but I've seen young children flying alone and someone from the airline watches them and walks them over to baggage and everywhere else.
