My laptop does not have a button to tune the volume level or mute it.
This is annoying, when the phone rings I wave to do too many clicks in a hurry to turn the volume down before answering the phone.
But that laptop has keys that can be programmed to run any commands (it is an Acer Aspire 3630).
Which commands can I use to set the volume to 0.
The answer I would like would be something like:
c:\Program Files\something\manage-sound.exe 0
And I would rather not install any software to do that.
Thanks for your help, I tried google and I did not find ...

I said my computer, so I don't want to use external speakers. It would be a solution for a desktop (and I do it), but not for a laptop.

having the volume icon in the task bar does not work for me.
When you ar in full screen mode you have to go out of full screen, then click on volum icon, then click on the mute button.
The solution I want is a windows command line that mutes the audio.
Then I'll assign it to a programmable key and I'll be happy
