I'm not sure its necessarily a law per say; but manufacturers recommend that no child under the age of 12 sit in the passenger seat due to the airbag deployment.

In my state, Washington, see you later as each and each of the accessible seat belts are getting used you're ok. even as i grow to be youthful my mom drove a 'sixty 4 Pontiac that in trouble-free words had lap belts in the front. If i grow to be the in trouble-free words passenger, I had to sit down down in the front the position the seatbelt grow to be. If there grow to be yet another passenger, i could sit down in the back, unbuckled. the point is, you won't be able to use what you do not have- the picture of the pickup truck drivers who've to placed their little ones in the front seat, it truly is the in trouble-free words seat. i'd advise calling the state squaddies or the county sherriff the position you're at for a more suitable definitive answer, notwithstanding.

I put my kid in the front because she is a human being and not a dog. I disconnected the air bag and put her up front as soon as she was out of her car seat. In my generation. I didn't even have a car seart.. I was on my parents lap or laying on the seat. Often I was sitting on the drivers knee. When I was older I rode int he back of the truck in the box... When my kids are in car seats I put them in the back.. but after that... I put them in the front seat so we can talk and poitn to things and interact like humans do when driving

In Texas, you have to be 12. You must also be buckled in (all passengers.) If you are under 12 you must be in the back, and depending on height/weight requirements you are supposed to have the child in a booster/ or car seat.

Here in AZ - it's 12 years or older for the front seat. Then they are usually big enough to not be hurt by the air bag if it goes off.

No kids under 12 is the warning in my car. That's a guideline though because I believe they base it on the average height.
