I don't think the whole story is being posted here ... and that you need to sit down and take a look at your behaviors leading up to your mother being UPSET ... what have you done, what were you doing .. were you being disrespectful, abusive, breaking things, throwing stuff down, NOT helping her out ... what???
Go to the mirror, sit down, and THINK ... what can I do to improve my own relationship with my mother at this time.
I think this sounds like a teenage question ... and being a Long Term Single Parent before becoming an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree ... I can assure you that the HORMONES ARE RAGING in your body, and you do NOT necessarily see the aggravation that is coming from your actions that are irritating the parent to the point where they start to yell or get angry.
How much are you doing around the home .. are you following the house rules, treating your PARENT like a HUMAN being or are you treating them like your SLAVE or SERVANT? Are you helping out with the chores, doing dishes, doing your own laundry, or is your room a mess? Are you coming home on time, doing your homework, working for the "Luxuries" that you want ... are you preparing for YOUR FUTURE .. including making preparations for further education or moving out on your own?
TRY THIS ... look at your behaviors, and DO CHANGE ... take responsibility for your actions, HELP your parent, and things will be much better in the home overall.

She can't control her anger and takes it out on everyone. Hopefully she don't hit you.

Maybe she has underlying problems and needs help. Try talking to her about your feelings. Maybe she is unaware of what she is doing.
