It is impossible to be terrified of something in which you do not believe.

Yes, that is why. God is very loving, kind and merciful. If all you know about Him is that He has all power and all the terrible things He has punished people with....then I can see why you would be terrified. You must get to know Him personally...and He wants that way more than you could ever know. It is so easy...just ask Him to show Himself to you...in His Word, in nature, in conversation with Him (prayer). He is interested in every speck of your life...that no one else knows. He will help you with ALL of it...if you just let Him take over. Just say..."I choose to be on your side God...just take over my life." But, you have to mean it. God wants you to "prove Him"....Mal. 3:10

This statement is of course an oxymoron. How can you be afraid of something that you do not believe in? While I do believe that there are many people that claim not to believe in God, yet fear him, I also believe that there are many who truly don't believe in God. I'm sure there's also many people that claim that they DO believe in God, but do not.

Fear of the unknown is normal. You can know God and be His child, then you will have a reverential fear of God. The bible says God is not willing that any should perish, but that all would go to heaven, its your choice.

I think its silly saying you're afraid of things that you don't believe exist.

My opinion is that its a non-topic, and a stupid question.

Sorry, you don't like being told you've asked a stupid question? Then don't ask them. Think for a second before you begin typing. Nobody who doesnt believe in god is afraid of that phantom fairy thing. OK?
