At that age she is not going to be traumatized if you appear naked in front of your 1 year old child. She probably won't even pay attention. Some people consider the naked body to be a natural thing. It is not the nakedness that is a problem -- it's when people do things that are wrong during that time that is the problem.

Try this -- rap a towel around you -- start the shower --- close all areas of cabinets and toilette so she can't get into anything -- place some toys and goodies on the pallet/towel or whatever on the floor in the bathroom -- get in the show -- take the towel off -- bath -- dry off and put the towel back around you before exiting the shower.

Put her in the playpen and leave the door of the bathroom open so you can still hear her. She needs to learn that you can't always be in the room with her. Make the shower quick so she's not alone too long. And make sure there is nothing in the playpen that she can choke on.

Leave her in the crib or playpen anyways. She is at the age now where u have to stand your ground and take care of what u need to take care of. she may cry and get fussy but she will learn, she will learn that she cannot have her way everytime and that crying will not get her what she wants. U have to stand firm as a father or when she grows up it will be very hard for her to wean off of this behavior. If u have to put on some cartoons or some music with a couple safe toys,if she still cries take care of your shower and leave her alone,u have to ignore the crying..she only cries for attention to get her way...trust me this will be the best thing u can do for her right now.

Put the playpen in the bathroom, give her the animal cracker, take the shower. If you are worried she will see you put a towel on and take it off after getting in the shower behind the curtain. If she chokes you are 3 feet away from her. Make the shower a quick one. Keep the curtain open a couple inches so you can keep an eye on her.

You are just going to have to let her sit in the play pen for a few min. Its ok if she cries for a while. There is nothing wrong w/ that. Also try taking a shower befour your wife leaves for work maby that would save some time and crying. Good luck!

wow! that's my dilemma everyday. I try to wake up earlier than my son in the morning, and shower/get ready before he wakes up for the day. but if i miss that opportunity, i gate him upstairs, close all the doors, except my room and the bathroom (babyproof rooms only, while i'm out of sight), and bring some toys upstairs so he can play while i shower. Mostly he walks back and forth from my room, and the bathroom. If your daughter has a playpen, use it! She doesn't have to like it, but it will keep her safe, and give you peace of mind.

hello dad. . try putting the play pen or crib near the shower room and don't close your door so you can peep at her and you can probably talk to your baby and explain to her that your just taking a shower, and that soon mom will be home. She will probably cry but once you converse with her while taking your shower, she will just be secured that your just there near her.

I agree, put her in the playpen. DO NOT give her food while you are unable to supervise her, especially animal crackers, as they are dry and she could choke. Don't worry about her crying, it won't hurt her. Just make sure she can't crawl out.

It's nice to see someone other than mothers dealing with this same problem.... :) Hats off to you!

Grey Goose and breast milk aren't the ultimate power combination,,, but it may start a trend.

You could patent it and make a fortune selling it to day care centers, the Spears estate, Madonna, and 14 year old babysitters around the world.

It beats animal crackers,,,

Tip: Shake lightly to avoid unnecessary bubbling and suspicion.
