It is pure ignorance. People dislike what they do not know, and few people know anything at all about Islam, except what they hear in the news. And, let's face it---------the news media in the West is very prejudiced.

And, some people hate for the joy of hating------makes them feel important and ''better'' than someone else if they can dehumanize that other person.

Love and hate are natural human responses but have to be responded in logical manner.While going through all the answers on Yahoo one thing is very predominantly noticed that one someone is annoyed or disapproves some actions of a section of so-called muslim, he shall immediately start hurling provocating abuses and character assisinating allegations against Islam or holy prophet of Islam, which are least required at that point in time and still they pose to be passionate and neuteral.This bigotary of character on the part of people hating muslims is the main reason.If they think that publishing stupid cartoons is endorsable, then their shall be no end to such debates.It is very disappionting that none of those saying such things in their questions and answers have acknowledged that the newspaper publishing those cartoons and his holiness the Pope have expressed their apology over this, already.Except for psychotherapy or some medecines, there is no cure for such critics of Islam.We do consider that what is being propounded is the malice frothing in few abnormal minds or disgruntled dissending individual and it is not the entire non-Islamic world.Decency, judiciousness and courtsey is that actual characteristics of human nature what is being demonstrated in Yahoo Q/A is something pitiable;because these people badly lack the basic human values.

Why do Muslims hate Christians and people in the west and want to kill all of us.
It's all about hate. I know that not all Muslims are terrorist trying to wipe people off the face of the earth. They are people just like the rest of us.
People have to stop hatred in order to get anywhere.
People don't understand that there are different Muslims like there are different Christians. There are baptize, Methodist, Catholics etc...Just like Muslims have their different sects, and they are not all extreme.
It's all about education. Both sides could learn a lot. But hate is always the motivation behind things like this.

I don't hate them ,
I love them, muslims are people for that we have to love them, they have feelings, they have thoughts , they can get hurt just like us, they have many things like any body else.

I just don't believe what they believe, and they don't like that , they get upset and they want to hurt you ( some of them )
If you are not like them they think you are a the worst thing, that you are dirty, or something creepy; so some of them they may treat you like you are nothing, and don't deserve good treatment, or maybe like poor thing that is nothing.
Some young muslims think they can play with any woman , like their toys for sex, cause they think their god send them for that.
( and could be a very good woman , just not been muslim)
If they get married then they allow to posses the woman with power, and other orrible things.

in general specially if you are a women , for """some of them""" ( ) any woman that is not a muslim is consider as a prostitue in a few words or worst than a dog, probably a dog has more value .

For some middle eastern countries women is considered as a object without a soul , even their own women.

In general they think the worst thing of America , cause the first thing that arrieved there ( many years ago , ) was your midia, crazy music, people half naked, and worst a lot of pornography got there too.
People in their business want to sell , but the problem is thats the only thing got there, and not the good things so for a muslim is very hard to understand that americans could be a good people. american people have no values, morlas, principles, they think they are the only one who deserve anything good, the rest don't deserve nothing from no one cause they are infidels ...for that makes angry to anybody so christians and other religions wants to defend themselves., is just a natural thing.
so that's the figth, but some they got money and live here in america millions of muslims enjoy living here, wondering why, but they rather be here than their own country, but they still pray looking at their mecca, or simple they believe there is more than the christians simple believe "in jesus".
for some interpretes of the quran a lesbian, a christian, a killer murder, a catholic priest ( who rape or not rape ) a good priest, a pastor, an homosexual etc for them all of those are same people. and some others they think this people are not allow to live.

The answer is very simple and straight forward. Followers of Islam are thoroughly intolerant of other religionists. Their assertion that Islam is a religion of peace sounds hollow and dishonest when they claim that it is the only true religion. They, muslims, are unable or opaque to accept the fact that their founder like all is not infallible and that many many of his sayings do not stand test of reason. That their book, Koran, contains staements which are offensive to common reason is a thing that Islamic followers do not understand. The importance given to punishment appals a modern mind. And to add to all these is the demand on pain of cruel retribution is the unequivocal demand for submission. Any comments?

The reason why people hate a group, say like Muslims is that they don't understand them and as they dislike them it becomes harder to take an interest in them and reverse this feeling. I didn't take to football supporters too much until I met a rabble of Glasgow Rangers supporters in Glasgow on a Saturday night. Spent one of the best evenings ever

Probably just the opposite reasons as to why some people stand up for and support the Muslim community on Yahoo answers and around the world. E.g. people who support Muslims generally have Muslim friends, people who hate Muslims don't have Muslim friends etc.

Americans are the worst offenders not that i`m saying that plenty English people are not the same before Muslims American hate was directed at commies and way back even native Indians were the bad guys
this way of thinking is actively encouraged by American government to justify their inhuman and usually unwarranted treatment of any country that doesn`t suck up to America

'Hate' is perhaps a strong word to apply, but I catch your drift.
Quite a few of your replies seem to agree with my thoughts on the subject, brainwashing by the media!
Lets imagine that suddenly all the media of the world were united in proclaiming that our aim should be to 'Love one another, regardless of colour, creed, nationality ?
Would that have any effect? If it was deemed the politically correct thing to do , and pumped out ever day , I think it would! People are very easily lead, this is probably why there are so many references to sheep and Shepard's in the two bibles?
But on a more serious note, Muslims and all Islamic people are the same as the rest of us , some of them are even like me (actual atheists) I have worked with them in their own country and spoken to them, I have read their Koran, I have read the two bibles , I have read most of the other rubbish also!
Lets never forget that we all have friends, and family, why we allow ourselves to be brainwashed like this I cannot understand!

Most Muslims seem to be OK, and hating them is wrong but there is that element out there who are murdering scum cowards, who hide behind a misguided belief that they are the chosen ones and believe it is their right to murder Innocent people. It is the coward fundamentalists in the world of Islam that make us hate them all.
