judjing by how you asked the question, you probably don't want to download either just yet. You have to know what your doing before you use low level compilers like that. If you wan't to start programming, get a visual IDE like delphi or .net. Or start with a scripting language.

enter Free C++ downloads into your favorite browser. And pick a website.Use borland C++ compiler if you can and look for a debugger as well.

if your going to work with java go with

TextPad and Eclipse

if your going to work with C++ you could buy .net but I would just use bloodshed compiler its free.
