A very long time. Months. Keep it refrigerated once opened. Just make sure you periodically scrape the inside of the jar so that what's on the sides doesn't become yucky, or even transfer it into a smaller container with a tight seal to make it last even longer.

There's an expiration date on the jar... which is about 9 months from packing.
However, depends upon how often you use it... how full the jar is... for the most part, it's a hardy product because of the vinegar and the salt used in making the mayo.

I am not sure - I did read tho, that you should buy smaller jars as the bacteria from your knife (whatever) tend to get into the jar and it isnt healthy - so I only buy the size I know I will use in a short time

It's good for at least a few months. If it starts to go bad, the surface will develop a transparent scum, different in texture from the normal white mayo. Once it does that, mold and other undesirables are not far behind, and you may as well throw it out.
