the majority of pitt bull owners i know obtain & breed them for the wrong reasons....they keep the dogs chained up outside 24 - 7....or they fight them....in that case,,,,that makes them complete ***holes.......

Unfortunately there is a general agreement in our society that pit bulls are bad. It's not true. Some of the jerks who breed and raise them - train them to be bad. And because of the pit bulls physical make-up - they CAN be aggressive violent dogs. So - anybody LOOKING to have an aggressive violent dog - is probably one of the arrogant morons you're talking about.
However - they are LOTs of arrogant morons who don't own pits and there are LOTS of pit bull owners who are not arrogant morons. And sometimes - the arrogant morons decide to get a pit bull. But they are already arrogant morons before they acquire the innocent pooches.

Obviously you've either met the wrong ones, or come off as an arrogant moron yourself. If you approach people with the idea that pits are horrible vicious monsters and they're pit owners, most aren't the type to sit you down and say look, this is my dog, he's cool, check him out. They know a lot of people don't like pits, and they don't need you reminding them that they "can't trust their dogs."

I have not met a pit or a pit owner that I haven't liked. I think you have just met some of the wrong ones.

You have just met the wrong ones. I am a manager of an Assisted Living facility in Texas. I have three kids, independant, make my own money, and I own a five year old male pit bull. I have owned him since he was two weeks old. He will be six in May. I am not an arrogant moron. I work everyday, and support myself and my kids, with help from no one. Does that sound like a moron to you?

I think that you have merely met the wrong ones
I am arrogant but in for the way I have a dog my dog is my kid and she had better not misbehave. They are different than other dogs but that does not give them nor the owners rights to abuse the rest of us.

You have met the wrong ones I guess. I have a Pit Bull and a Lab and both are great obedient loving dogs.

What do you think? Generalizations are are generally wrong, so you decide.
Pit bulls do attract a certain type of crowd sometimes. But because of that, they also attract the polar opposite.

Awwww. I am afraid that mostly, you have met the wrong ones. I think it is possible that the ones you ordinarily encounter are being "flaunted" by owners ready to argue about the breed, or smug knowing a lot of people will regard them as unapproachable. Those of us who just have sweet pitbull pets at home are not "out there" as much.

but some arrongant people are attracted to pit bulls because pits r aggressive, and very intimidating with their looks

Most of all of the pitty owners I've known are the nicest, most understanding people. They don't breed their mutts, they don't fight, they are great people!
