A metal scoop? That sounds about right. you could call it a lot of names, but I think its feeling would get hurt.(keep it nice)
I have often thought were do names come from anyway, like "sleeve" like on your shirt. Did the name gods just say "hay we need to call that something and nobody is using "sleeve" Heck, that will work!.

A Sploodle.....its half ladle half spoon. The edges are raised but not as high as a ladel would be.
