It's not possible to advise you on exercising because you need a qualified physician to assess your problem. He may advise some gentle exercise or he may tell you that your problem could be made worse by movement. Moist heat usually gives temporary relief without doing any harm; gentle movements in a swimming pool might relax your back . Some back problems require surgery or physical therapy or a combination of treatments.

Just suggestions, it depends on the severity of the pain. A chiropractor helped me, but stretching as advised by professional (Physical Therapist, Chiropractor, etc) helped minimize the discomfort and will help prevent making it worse. Yoga? Best advice, don't sit. Lay down any time you can with your knees bent. Roll to your side to get up. Hope you get it managed.

If you go on GOOGLE, they probably demonstrate back exercises. You have to loosen up some muscles and strengthen up others.

It could be something about your discs in the back.
