He wants for us all to worship Him. Verily, that is the true meaning of life.
The Purpose of Life is to worship the One and only All Might God
"I did not create the Jinn and mankind, except that they should worship me"

“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour.” [al-Isra’ 17:23]

This is the main, exact reason why we were created by God the All Mighty, to worship and follow Him. Does God need us? No, all He wants us is to obey Him, and worship Him as He should be worshipped, as He is the only One worty of worship, and we should do. Why should weworship Him? He create us and gave us everything we can ever ask or and need. So the least we can do is be greatful to Him, everytime, because he is the All Mighty, that has given us so much. He is nothing like us:
1 Say (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)): "He is Allah, (the) One.
2 "Allah-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks).
3 "He begets not, nor was He begotten;
4 "And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him."
[Surah al-Ikhlas 112:1-4]
He puts us in bad situations to see how we do, and to obey him, in every command, not altering any, or leaving any, but accepting it all.

For us .. God wants nothing but the best that he has to give. From us...all God wants is our complete love and devotion.

He wishes for no one to perish. This is why He has been unbelievably patient sending Jesus to return to earth.. But, even God has a limit on patience for one day He shall return in all His Glory. Accept Jesus as your personal Savior while there's time. He could return tonight or in 10 years but it pays to be ready.

I think to become like him because he is perfect. He is love itself and he has unconditional love for everyone and I think we are here on earth to go through really hard times so we can learn to love. We are to love him, everyone else on the planet, and ourselves unconditionally under harsh conditions.
