i really like this girl who i hang out with she is allways flirting with me and i have asked her out but she says she doesent know me well engough but we have been friends for 8 years i think thats well enough

After 8 years , she knows you well enough. She probably really values your friendship and doesn't want to hurt you with the line "let's just be friends" as far as the flirting... She probably is flirting with you. Sometimes girls flirt with guy friends especially the ones that they already know are attracted because it's fun "safe" and it feels good to them, they already know that you like them so their is no fear of rejection, she can keep the flirting monologe going forever as long as it gives her ego a boost. It isn't fair to you but alot of girls are like that because she is giving you mixed messages. Try cooling it for awhile with her, don't give her the flirting back. Don't be mean. She'll either really step up the flirting on her part to get your attention or she may realize that she really does have more than friendly feelings towards you. If she gets really mad than she's just using you as an ego trip. If thats the case your better off without her.

well if she doesn't know you by now she never will! 8 years is more then enough time to get to know someone. It sounds like she just wants to be friends and nothing more. Just stay friends and see what happens in the future, since she knows you want to date her.

Sounds like a tease to me. I mean if you've known her for 8 years and she's always flirting with you.....well!
Perhaps she doesn't want an intimate relationship, she may just want to stay friends.
