Heaven is said to be a place where a person will live happily forever, but what he will do there? and what will happen then? Is there an end of it? If we were suppose to go to heaven or hell and stay there forever, whats the point sending us in this world?

Whatever your idea is of living happily ever after. As far as sending us into the world, no one has a clear answer on that.

No, not every religion has a concept of Heaven and Hell, only the monotheistic Middle Eastern, such as Christianity and Islam, do.

You do have a very good question though, one I often asked myself when I was a Christian. What is the point of even being here on Earth if the main event is the afterlife? Why not skip the rehearsal and get straight to the concert?

I'll let the Christians answer you about what happens in heaven since it's their religion now and no longer mine . But personally, I think it would drive a person insane if they had to live for all eternity.

I can tell you that in my religion there's plenty to do, you can eat, drink, and be merry and do everything you'd do on earth but without having to worry about dying. There are nine worlds (as opposed to the two in the monotheistic religions) to go to in the afterlife. Some souls if they get tired of the afterlife can be reborn if they want. In the end, no one lives forever, not even the gods. And there is no equivalent to the Christian's fiery hell in Asatru.

I agree with others in that not every religion has a concept of Heaven and Hell. Of the top world religions on this site, I think that only the top two believes in these concepts.

Personally, after death I believe that my soul will go to the Otherworld where I will feast with my ancestors and deities. Then I will review lessons learned before incarnating again. I feel that my purpose in being here is to learn and grow and help other souls to do the same.

I made a blog post about this just yesterday actually. ~won't link to for fear of being considered advertizing.~

Anyway, I can't say for sure what exactly we'll do in Heaven, and I'm not really sure anyone full can, but I do expect that most of the time, in the Christian version anyway, we'll be worshiping God.

Though, I don't think that'll be all we do forever, since it's said there is a place to be prepared for us (John 14:2). So who knows. ~shrug~

Also, as to if it will end, the answer to that is how you define "forever" ^_~

As for -why- we're here, I think that we started out to a testament to God's glory, but now I think it's more of a time to choose what we believe, but also to get the chance to get more than just our own opinions. After all, it'd hard to see things from another point of view if there were no other points of view.

As to -why- we're here to choose and not just made as will-less worshipers. Would you rather have someone choose to worship you of their own free-will rather than just worship you because that's all you made them to do?

whats up, it truly is been a lengthy time period for me to respond to a question. I nevertheless examine an same responses that were given a year or so in the past. As all of us recognize anybody is blinded by using devil. that's a lot less complicated to make some thing up, than to seek for the reality. that isn't replace. i imagine your question is an rather good one, yet i don't believe of you're going to get the reply you're searching for. Have a hello, and that i will keep peeking in to be sure what occurs. Agape

You are mistaken, not every religion believes in a Hell. Pagans do not, neither, as I understand it, do the Hindus. I know that the Pythagoreans didn't, nor do many of the Native American peoples. What happens in Heaven varies from Church to Church. The point of sending us to this world varies from faith to faith. There is no meaningful answer to you question, you seem to think all faiths are identical, they aren't.

I find it interesting how many similar beliefs there are in such basic things as heaven and hell.
You said it yourself...Heaven is a place where you will live happily ever after.
No more disease, no more sorrow, no more fear, no more death...God will wipe away all tears from your eyes.

It depends what you believe, some believe you can chose to be reincarnated, others belief you can spend eternity there with loved ones.
We are in this world to learn. I believe hell is here, on earth.

So many have such a misconception of heaven.

We will dwell with the Lord as the angels do, serving Him and giving glory to him. It shall be an eternity of joyous and glorious servitude and our desire will be to do as such because we will be made perfect in Him wanting to uphold the greatest commandment, "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."

Therefore who ever desires to serve the Lord first and others second in all that they do here shall be exalted to serve Him in the highest places, yet whoever desires to put anything before the Lord even himself shall be cut off from the Lord forever upon tasting death.
