im 43 yrs old but have had pain in right side all day, am i to old?

I was 20 when my appendix was removed. I felt like something was pulling in my stomach (right side) for 3 days so I went to the doctor and I got the operation the following morning but I was told by the doctor that if the pain was getting any worse during the night I should go to casualties immediately. I know somebody who had it removed at 45 so your age has nothing to do with it. However it is more common in people under 25. If the pain gets any worse anytime this week-end or if you are very worried, go to casualties just in case. Otherwise, do speak to your doctor on Monday if you still feel any pain. Good Luck.

They had me opened up for a cystectomy when I was 21, when I came around they told me that while I was under and opened up they took my appendix out too, killed two birds with one stone as the saying goes. Not that there was anything wrong with them, I expect it was to save NHS money just in case in the future I did develop appendicitis.

No but my dad did when he was about 8! He got them taken out becasue one day he had felt horrible and the next he felt fine so they knew that something was not right!

I was 11 yrs old. They did a very decent and discreet scar.

yes, may appendix is gone, I was in the 3rd grade when it ruptured and they had to do emergency surgery. then i was hospitialized for 3 weeks.
