When I said she was in heat i meant she is ready to breed. I dont want to breed her. She is only a few months old. I got her in July. She is an indoor cat.

She needs to be spayed asap. A cat is in heat for 3 - 10 days and will come in heat every 21 days.

The normal heat span for a cat is two months. If more time passes, don't worry. She may feel threatened. My friend has had a major experience with her cat going into heat, and this is her reply:
When my cat went into heat, we took several normal cardboard boxes, that you might get at places like Costco, and put paper towels and old rags in them. When there's about one week left before the delivery, your cat will choose one of these for the birth spot. I've found that once she's chosen a box, you should stay with her as much as possible. The quietest room of the house would be the best. Even outside the room should remain quiet. If she doesn't feel safe she may put off the process up to another 3 weeks. Stay with her throughout the birth to comfort her. She may get too scared if you leave. IMPORTANT: Make sure your veterinarian knows about the birth at least 2-3 weeks prior. Never wait until the last minute to let them know; it may be too late! Also contact your vet if she stops breathing or the kittens won't breath. You also want to keep a medical bulb to start the kittens air flow!

You got her in JULY!!!! That means if you got her the DAY she was born, she is at least 6 MONTHS NOW!!!! If she was at least a month old when you got her, she is 7 months old!!!!! Cats go into heat around 5-6 months.
She clearly had NEVER been to a vet, so they would have told you how old it was and that it needed to be SPAYED!!!!!!!

GET IT SPAYED!!

When your cat goes in heat they will mark there territie and is best for the female to get fix as well as the male cause they are worst. And the best time to get them fix is when they are 5 to 6 months. You need to call your vet.

until you have her spayed. a cat continue to go in and out of heat until bred or spayed. and since there is no lack of kittens in this world have her spayed. take her yowling as an hourly reminder to have her spayed. or the mass of toms trying to get into your home and marking your yard making it smell awful. have your cat spayed. you'll sleep better and she'll live longer.
