According to the Bible, God "also laid this command upon the man: 'From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it, you will positively die.'" The Serpent(Enki), which is said to be the devil, told Eve that they would not die, but would be able to perceive good and bad as God does. The couple ate from the tree and saw that they were nude. They then covered their privates with fig leaves and hid their nakedness from God; But they DID NOT DIE! So if lying is a sin, then, didn't God commit the original sin? Also, if the Serpent and the Devil are one, than the Devil told them the truth.

Spiritually dead honey. Not physically, because what Adam and Eve didn't understand is they were already like God. He made them out of His own image. They messed up when they believed what the liar, Satan said. In the bible one of Satan's titles is the father of lies. He's known for taking God's word and twitsing them. That's why he said you won't surely die, He knew that if they ate that fruit, their connecton with God would be distorted. That's why you see people now who don't believe in God, they can't understand the ways of God, they are spiritually dead. Christ is soo important to man's life because He gives you life. Have you ever heard of that. Christ gives you life. Not pysical life spiritaul life that you didn't obtain when you were born. Because you were born in iniquity. So it's up to you to embrace Jesus.

Adam and Eve did begin to die that day. They were seperated from God by sin which has the result of death since God is the giver of life. The devil mixes truth with lies and has since before the beginning of the earth...when he was in heaven. They did know good and bad but they also did die. God cannot lie (Titus 1:2) and the devil is the father of lies. (John 8:44)

Adam and Eve were designed to live forever; By breaking Gods command not to eat of the tree of the fruit of knowledge, they doomed all men to die in a physical sense. Therefore, God spoke the Truth... there is no lie in Him.( Yes, Adam and Eve BOTH died!) The Devil only told a partial truth, which shows how insidious Satan is, and how cunning and manipulative he is. Satan is the father of lies.

God did not lie. Adam and Eve not only died a spiritual death, they also died a physical death eventually.

Adam and Eve's sin was that they wanted to be like God. The devil told them that they would be like God, therefore the devil lied. Adam and Eve were created in original grace. They had no knowledge of evil. Once they ate of the tree, they had knowledge of evil. That's why they covered themselves. In the state of grace they saw one another as partners, but in the state of sin they saw one another as sexual objects.

The terms "life" and "death" in a religious sense do not always mean that a being stops breathing or that the heart ceases to beat. Life can be defined, as in the story of Eden, as being kept hidden from all things evil. Not knowing the difference between good and bad; only knowing peace, prosperity and purity. On the other hand, Death can mean that one's eyes have been opened to both natures: good and evil. One is now "aware" that there is a difference. So you see, God didn't tell a lie. God spoke metaphorically.

But they did die in the sense that death was now in their future. Before the sin, there was no death. They would have lived forever in a perfect environment. After the sin, death and the knowledge of good and evil entered the world.

The devil always uses truth combined with lies to deceive. Look at Jesus' temptation by the devil.

It wasn't a lie. God told them that they would die, and they died later. They became mortal. "The day" didn't refer to the exact period of one revolution of the earth; it meant something more like, "In the time period".

The devil sometimes tells the truth, but in this case he combined a truth with a lie. The truth was that they would be able to perceive good and bad. And, it was true that when they ate the fruit, they learned that it was bad to break the commandments of God. The lie was that they would not die, since, as I mentioned, they became mortal and did die. I feel this tells us all something about the devil. If he lied to us all the time we would automatically know not to believe him. But since he tells the truth sometimes, we have to be very careful to watch out for when he lies.

Genesis 2:16-17 states:

The LORD God gave man this order: "You are free to eat from any of the trees of the garden except the tree of knowledge of good and bad. From that tree you shall not eat; the moment you eat from it you are surely doomed to die."

"Doomed to die" means eventually not necessarily immediately. Both Adam and Eve did eventually die. God did not lie.

With love in Christ.

Are they still with us? No they are surely dead and you too will die.
A day to God is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as one day. They are 7 days of creation and we have not reached the 7th day which is his rest as of yet. Adam died in the first day of creation at the age of 930 and in that day ye shall surely die. Through this disobedience death and sin entered the world. the death these speak of is wrong Adam was not condemned in his spirit but in his flesh and did die. His flesh was condemned and the flesh of all of us.The Devil does love to mix truth with lies it is the reason you still have so many differing views on religion. His greatest lie that which is mixed with truth.

GOD DOES NOTTTTTTTT LIE!

You should be very careful in what you say!

Just because you don't understand something, doesn't make anyone a liar.

The death was a spiritual death, and eventually it lead to a physical death, which would not have occurred if they would have obeyed. As son as they sinned, they began to age. Spiritually they were dead and would not live forever as God does.

Sin causes death, if you are not redeemed from your sins, you are SpirituallY dead. Eventually your body will die and your soul will suffer in hell forever. God will not have access to you once you are in hell, so you are spiritually dead.

NOW IS YOU CHANCE FOR ESCAPE! DON'T MISS IT. YOU SINNED AGAINST GOD BY CALLING HIM A LIAR, YOU NEED JESUS TO SAVE YOU FROM THE PENALTY OF THAT SIN AND EVERY OTHER SIN.

TODAY IS YOUR DAY OF SALVATION!
