It is Fort Leonard Wood and you should be able to call the base operator at 417-596-0131 who should be able to be connect you to the office that would have that info.

You have a couple of answers as to how to find out when his graduation is. But they let a soldier use the phone once in a while (but be patient with him as it requires much standing in line) so he should be able to tell you. Do call the post as to procedures and such so you can get on post in the first place and know where to go. They probably have a packet you can get.

Yes he will get a couple of nights offpost. Make sure you book a hotel room in advance as so many people graduate from there they fill up.

One thought though....... If he is doing One Station Unit Training which is where you finish basic, have 2 days off then return to your unit for AIT (where you are now officially a soldier) that graduaution is the main one and more important. Many families wait for that one.

If he is doing AIT elsewhere you might find that this graduation to be easier to attend as in a closer airport and better offpost restaurants to go to.

I guess it all depends on wether he is going active or a reservist. A bit more info would help you. Whatever you do write him letters. They are so much better than 5 min. conversations after waiting for a phone.

He should be able to leave post on graduation day, but he'll have to remain in uniform.
