Rocky could be an adjective to describe something. There is also the Rocky Mountains, or Rocky the movie. There is even a brand of boots called Rocky. It all depends on the context in which it is being used.

There is a chain of mountains called the Rocky Mountains, or the Rockies for short. There are several movies about a boxer named Rocky Balboa. A friend of mine has a bulldog named Rocky and I know a fellow who's given name is Rockwell that is called Rocky for short.
