Can you see any traces of anything in the vomit? Usually when my dogs are sick it because they have eaten something they shouldn't have, and it is fairly evident in the vomit what the cause is. Don't feed the dog until it is better, but encourage him/her to have a drink. Keep an eye on the general condition, too - if it's just eating something silly, the dog will still seem fairly happy and lively - if something more serious is wrong, he/she will probably be a bit more lethargic. You haven't said how many times your dog has been sick - if it is more than a two or three times, see the vet. Practices usually have some arrangement for out of hours emergencies, so don't be shy about calling if you are really worried about your pet.

I wonder why people ask these questions on here! Now come on, use your common sense, what do you THINK you should do:? Yes, that's right - CALL THE VET. If the dog is vomiting constantly the chances are there is an obstruction, or he may have been poisoned with something. In any case, no one here can really help you - you have to bite the bullet and call the vet. The PDSA do an out-of-hours service over the weekend.

Take it to a vet NOW, The dog could be seriously ill. Constant vomiting can dehydrate the dog and present a life threatening situation.

He could have eaten something poisonous, so call the vet. I've done this so many times I can't even remember them all. We had a dog that ate steel wool, nails, anything metal, so I was constantly calling the vet. After the first few calls, they told us to just give him pepto bismal, which believe it or not helped. The thing is, we knew what it was he ate, so we knew it wasn't poison. Your dog could have gotten into household cleaners, radiator fluid dripping from a car (dogs love this stuff and its deadly) or been poisoned some other way, so you really need to call the vet.

I would go to the vets or ring a vets. Do you have any idea why the dog is vomiting? Explain all you know to the vet and let them advise you. It also depends how ill the animal is - you must ensure they have enough water and fluids.

Make sure the dog drinks lots of water, dont feed the dog tonight and if it doesnt go by tomorrow morning go to the vet. If the dog has stopped vomiting by the morninf, feed for a couple of days on boiled rice and Chicken as its gentle on the stomach xxx

remove all food and water now. See if he/she settles down. If the vomiting continues thru the night, call you vet, it could be something serious. If not, try very small portions of food and water tomorrow. If he/she vomits again, you need to go to the vet

I should come onto the internet and muck about for a while, maybe ask anonymous people on yahoo and hope that it isn't serious.
Be a shame if he dies because you didn't take him to a vet though like most caring owners would.

Your poor dog! Your vet is really the only one who can tell you exactly what's going on. You can take him/her in before it closes and if you can't, take him to the emergency vet. She should really be seen.
