a steel rctangular beam of 50mm x 25mm and the maximum allowable tensile stress is 165n/mm2is rigidily attached to a piece of timber 500mm x 80mm in section and 2m long.
if the modulas of elasticity for the timber is 9.6kn/mm2 and the max allowable stress is 8.5 n/mm2 determine the max safe load that the composite member could carry
