I recommend to you Alejandro Sanz! Not a lot of people knew about him in the US until he sang La Tortura with Shakira, but he has an impressive and long career. I also love Gustavo Cerati, if you like electronic music, especially his albums Bocanada and Siempre Es Hoy. Some of what he sings is also rock: he used to be the leader of Soda Stereo, an awesome Argentinian rock band from the 80's and 90's. Hope you like them!

Rammstein is a good industrial metal band from Germany. My favorite song by them is Ich Will. Another decent German band is Kraftwork. Their song Autobahn is the only one coming to me now. Give them a listen.
