I was raised Catholic and taught Jesus was the Son of God. I don't now associate with any particular religion and feel that you don't have to worship a higher power in a man made building with man's interpretation of the Bible, ect.

The mix up here starts with the word Trinity. God, the Father, God, the Son, and God, the Holy Ghost (Spirit). They are three individuals who agree as one. Jesus is the son of God the Father. (If not, whom did Jesus pray to while he was on earth?) I worship God, the Father and the Son, Jesus because in the old testament we are told to worship God. In the new testament, when people came to Jesus for healing, they worshiped him. By example, I do the same.

We worship God through Jesus Christ who bares no sin. He's the intermediary...our free pass.

Do you tell a five year old the biological truth about where babies come from?

Possibly the word 'son' is the closest word to explain the relationship. The son of David is Jesus, as well.

Jesus is the Son of God. That is what the Bible really teaches...

Matthew 3; 16 & 17: "After being baptized Jesus immediately came up from the water; and, look! the heavens were opened up, and he saw descending like a dove God’s spirit coming upon him. 17 Look! Also, there was a voice from the heavens that said: “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.”

Jesus prayed to his Father and also called him his God.

Luke 22:41 & 42: "And he himself drew away from them about a stone’s throw, and bent his knees and began to pray, 42 saying: “Father, if you wish, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, let, not my will, but yours take place.”

John 14:28b: "because the Father is greater than I am."

1 Corinthians 11:3: "But I want YOU to know that the head of every man is the Christ; in turn the head of a woman is the man; in turn the head of the Christ is God."

Notice that God and Jesus here are shown to be two separate individuals and only Jesus is shown to have a head.

Jesus was the firstborn of all creation, meaning that he was created. He also is shown to sit at the right hand of God. If he were God, would he be able to sit at his own side? That just doesn't make sense.

Psalms 83:18: "That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah,
You alone are the Most High over all the earth. "

When we know God's name, then it is not so confusing to see their proper places, and to truly know them as the individuals that they are.

John 4:23: " Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him"

John 17:3: "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."

Jesus is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity, but He is also the Son of God. The doctrine of the Trinity is really hard to wrap our minds around, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. Check out the links below for a fuller explanation of the Trinity and evidence of it from the Bible.

1. He is both - he is the son of God the Father, and is himself God the Son, the living Word of God. (John 1:1)
2. We worship God, who is both (and also the Holy Spirit.)

Both. Jesus is part of God, a triune God. I worship the Father, the Son - Jesus - and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is definately the Son of God, not God. I worship the one true God, Jehovah, who asks that we give Him exclusive devotion. (Joshua 24:19 and others)
