It does NOT make it grow faster. It makes it grow HEALTHIER. How it is people think what you do to the ends affects how it grows is beyond me. It is dead when it comes out of the scalp.

No, it ends up growing faster because it gets rid of the split ends. If you just let it grow, the split ends will keep getting worse and you will eventually have to get a lot more cut off, so trimming them off as soon as they appear actually leads to less hair getting cut off in the end. It does not stimulate growth or make hair thicker or anything like that.

It doesn't make it grow faster. But it does help you to keep the hair you have. Trimming gets rid of split ends that cause further damage to the hair if not clipped. If you don't trim, the split goes further up the shaft and damages more of your hair. What then happens is that your hair breaks easily and remains short.

This question never dies...

For the end of the hair to communicate with the inside of the hair follicle (which is where hair actually grows), nerves would have to be present to carry the message. If that happened, it would hurt to get your hair cut!

When hair is trimmed regularly, the evened ends are easier to measure, but nothing more.

No. Hair grows from the root, and cutting the ends off doesn't affect its rate of growth.

No, it doesn't stimulate growth! But it does remove spit ends, and prevents breakage, allowing it to grow longer without breaking off. That's why it appears to make it grow faster.

It makes it grow a lot faster and even when it gets to the point it was at before you get it cut it looks so much better.
