Do you think siting and watching TV while getting a Mri Scan is a good idea. The upright mri can scan patients up to 500lbs and scan children in their mothers lap without risky sedation and Drs say it finds 34% more pathology then a TUBE scanner a Near Zero patient rejection rate because of Claustrophobia or Anxiety Panic Attacks This what the scanner looks like http://tinyurl.com/9s5hu

Put the original link and people MIGHT go and look at it. Most people will not click on a tiny url as it could lead anywhere!;

Yeah, a TV wouldn't seem to work. I've had 5 MRIs over the past few years, and I have always laid down. I wear a ring that my boyfriend gave me and I can feel it moving when I get the scan also (I asked if it was going to be okay and they said it was..). And they always ask you if you have any type of metal plates or pacemakers. I think that the child sitting on their Mother's lap wouldn't work, it doesn't seem like it would get a very clear picture of the child that way. However there are open MRIs now instead of the tube. I have only been in the tubes though. It's ...uncomfertable.

I've never seen a MRI machine that would be used with the patient in any position EXEPT flat on their back.

Scanning a child sitting on it's mother's lap would not give a true picture of the child. A child would be secured to ther MRI table and possibly also given a short-acting sedative as well.

If you are claustrophobic, you can arrange to be sedated for an MRI.
