That's because the YALF has been missing in action lately. They'll be back sometime next month, I'm sure.

Absolutely.
Full of stupid questions and stupid answers.
Why would people answer a question with "Use Google" or "I Dont Know"?
The problem is Y/A has become the trendy thing to do for teenagers who have no life experience to give yet insist on getting involved in subjects they know nothing about.
Someone asked a serious question about their health and the reply was "You have AIDS". Others have discussed suicidal thoughts and the answers have almost encouraged the asker to commit suicide.
Im all for a laugh and a joke but when every question has at least one insulting answer and people posting anti-american, anti-muslim and racist comments its just no fun!

It hasn't lost its appeal for me. I use Yahoo Answers as a research tool and also as a way to further establish myself as a knowledgeable person in my field.
Some of the answers I receive give me a different perspective on how people think. I think it's a great tool!

Well, the trolls have invaded, and that does cut into it, but the only way it can COMPLETELY lose its appeal is if we let it; if we keep a leash on the trolls by reporting, and being responsible for it, we shouldn't lose it completely. If, however, you ARE a troll and the "fun" you mean is the trolling, be prepared for it to be a lot less "fun".

It hasn't lost appeal, but it has lost its seriousness. Monkeyshines and insults are becoming routine, and advertisements for goods, services and commercial websites have become too common. And people almost never check to see whether their questions have been answered already... so the same questions keep getting asked again, and again, and again, and again.

sometimes I like to look back at old questions I've asked, and ask them again. Usually the more interesting questions. You'll get even more creative answers sometimes.
other than that, I'd probably do something else if you feel that way.

i'm still enjoying it, you're right it does lose some of its appeal after a while but you have to find the right questions to answer. the problem is all the homework questions and nasty ones.

sometimes I Feel that way. It depends on the day I guess and also how creative some people can be with their questions and answers.

It happens when you have too much of something...
like when you eat nothing but the same food everday... it's only going to grow dull and boring...
