i have an ex who is just a friend. for some reason he feels that he has to make light or joke about something i said about my friends or cousins. what is his problem? i have told him that i don't like that. he hasn't done it for awhile but he wanted to do it again and i stopped him.

Perhaps that is one of the reasons he is your EX....spend less time with him.

I think that the reason he is doing this is because he feels ockward so he tries to cope by making jokes about others. I think he still has some feelings about the past relationship you had.

He probably just has a weird sense of humour. Just keep reminding him that you don't like it and move on with the conversation. Don't preach or obsess about it.
