Oh dear.
If you have a UK passport you can live anywhere in the E.U.
Our State and Government, later added, is a direct copy of the French.
They had a revolution to correct a part of this but we did not.
French politicians describe their elected government as a snake pit.
If you were a socialist you would not have voted for this government.
What you sow you will reap.
The next chance you will get will probably be your last anywhere.
Global warming will demand it.

Since France is trying to dictate to other EU members (which the UK is). I'm not sure that you could, you will have to check with the EU, but then if it made the UK looks bad, I would think France would be glad to. The bottom line is if you are not happy where you are, "vote with your feet" and move to a place you are comfortable.

Sorry but the french immigration laws much stricter than UK, and are enforced, you would end up being deported back to UK, but you would then probably be able to claim all the benefits going and get a free house:-)

You rustic English fools!
We live in the E. U. - a society of states that guarantees its citizens the right to go and work in any member country without discrimination, and if you get laid off, you can also claim benefits at the same lavel as a home-born person can.
Being European is a priviledge because we get to choose where to go and live, and then we can change our minds and move again, ... (and being English means you have a guaranteed job anywhere you want to go and teach English at schools)

Hee Hee! We already did it, move to France that is, and yes they are taking wonderful care of us, (and the thousands of other Brits who have voted with their feet) thank you very much. Come and join us, if you like!
Please people take this in the spirit in which it is intended. As a laugh at the way of life!! Okay?

You people are amazing, and I'll never quiet understand your whining. You're spoiled. Why don't you seek Asylum, and go to Cuba, or North Korea. You know what---- Better yet, France may be a good ideal for you. I hear they're fighting terrorists in the streets, because they feel like you can hug, and pet them into liking everyone. Go for it!

you wouldnt have to its an eu country so you can live there legally without the need to claim asylum. i dont think you can classify an elected government as a dictatership anyway.
