I asked this girl out for coffee yesterday, as i was quite sure she was also interested in me. She said yes, but today when we were going to organise a date, she said she had a problem and that there was someone else and if i had asked 2 weeks ago she would have deffinately said yes.

I talked to her best friend before i asked and he said she had been waiting for me to make a move for quite a while. And that she had been holding off with this guy incase i asked her out.

Im positive she is still interested in me as an option, so what do i do?

What i want to do is hang out with her as friends, still grab the coffee, but not in date mode. Should i ask her again, and say just as friends.

Also should i even continue to flirt, now she knows i am actually wanting to date her aswell, she may rethink everything (yes i realise thats very selfish of me), Is it bad to say to her, that i was a fool for waiting so long, and that i will still fight for her, if it wont make her awkward?

that why you should not wait to long to make a move on some one you really like because they will find someone else. Sitll be friend with her and yes tell her that you was a fool for waiting, let her know you made a mistake and how you really feel and if she can give you another chance. If she already see someone you might have to wait your turn, she might change her mine or things might not work out with them. still be friends, don't cause problem with them repect her wishes

Do not say that (you'll fight for her) it will freak her out and she will tell her friends and the ywill all see you as a freak. Do however ask her to hang out as friends, and you can still flirt, I think that maybe she is making you wait because you made her wait. I say be patient.

It's your turn to wait now. However, do still grab the coffee but just as friends.

What you're suggesting sounds to me that it would be awkard and difficult for the girl, so my advice is to just be friendly and be there for her when the time comes.

Sounds like she was waiting for the first one to ask her out. Let this other one take it's course and in the meantime remain friends.

If you do not want to look pathetic don't ask for advice on your love life. Follow your gut feeling. Sounds like you have the plan now just do it.

You can't be just friends. She already said no...I wouldn't waste time trying to change her mind. Sometimes the friend doesn't know what she's talking a/b.

You blew it by waiting too long. Now accept that she found someone else.

Don't tell her you'll fight for her. Make her feel awkward for sure.

Just be causually friendly.

i don't get this one... if you like her, why do you want to be just a friend? ask her out! don't play games. that's a big turn off. and you already know that she likes you. so go ahead and show her what you've got. good luck!
