I'm Hindu. I'm 13. So, a lot of people either believe in God, and not Darwin's theory. I go to a Catholic school, and both of our science teachers who are female, are Catholic, yet believe in Darwin's Theory or Evolution.

The previous Pope (John Paul II) also believed in evolution.

Catholics and most Protestants have no problem with evolution. Even Pope John Paul II said that evolution is much more than mere theory. They believe that the creation story in the Bible is not meant to be taken literally.

It is really just a fringe group of Christian Extremists who are trying to keep schools from teaching accepted science.

Catholicism because of its huge multicultural status has to be a fairly sophisticated sect and cant reject a theory as well supported as evolution without making itself look like a joke.

Do Hindu's need to believe in God at all? As opposed to Shiva and Kali? You've confused me there. If you get a good education you might start questioning the idea of supernatural beings of any description.

OH and you shouldn't 'believe' in evolution - science doesn't ask for faith or require it, you need to investigate it for yourself. Remember, NEVER accept arguments from authority.

The Catholic Church warned against literal Bible interpretations. Many Christians do believe in evolution--it's just that, in R&S, there are plenty of people who are sexually attracted to the Bible as opposed to worshipping God, so you'll get a lot of "THE BIBLE IS PERFECT" views.

Look up theistic evolution, which appears to be the most popular view of the origin of life of the majority of Christians.

What it means is you have some sense.

Evolution is science--and what it does is describe the PROCESS of the development of life, or at least as much of it as we know about. It says nothing one way or the other about the existance of God. The rhetoric you hear (mostly from supposed Christians) to the contrary is nonsense--they take a sympolic account of creation and try to interpret it as a literal account. Which is clearly ridiculous, since the story told in Genesis is clearly a metaphor.

To put it another way, given that you believe in God (as do I) we believe God created life. Evolution--indeed all of science) is simply a way of using the minds God gave us to understand more about that creation.

BTW--the sort of "Christians" who spout that "creationist" nonsense are the sort Gandhi was referring to when he said "I like your Christ; I don't like your Christians." :)

It means you have a brain, and that's a good thing.

I think a lot people due to religious beliefs or whatnot feel it has to be either God or evolution.

I personally believe that even if a Watchmaker makes the proverbial Watch, the Watch is still going to have gears that govern the operation of the Watch.

It means you're a theistic evolutionist (God directs evolution). Read widely and develop your own personal philosophy. You sound as if you are intelligent and inquisitive, so I have little doubt that evolution will become a greater part of your intellect.

First, the "finely tuned" cradle for existence is neither as existence adapts to the ecosystem that that's in. this theory exchange into presented earlier we knew that existence flourishes in very intense situations and pushes our limited wisdom of what existence actual is. Even the theory that the earth is finely tuned is far over stated, all of us be responsive to that the earth has a great tolerance in its orbit at a similar time as retaining existence as all of us be responsive to it, and a much broader tolerance for different forms of existence.
