OK, FIRST AND FOREMOST - CHECK WITH A DOCTOR BEFORE ANY DIETING. Second you can fast with just oatmeal for two days to a week. (Oatmeal to eat, water to drink). Then if you follow your diet and count the calories (less than 2000/day), you should lose weight. Nobody can gaurantee you will lose weight unless they are constantly monitoring you or have strong knowledge of your background. The key to weight loss and keeping it off is a combination of diet AND excersize. If you reduce your caloric intake AND reduce your workload or the excercize you do, you will NOT lose weight because it balances out. The fact that you see yourself as overweight does NOT mean your not anorexic. Most anorexics feel overweight even at 90 lbs. This is not saying you are anorexic, but is another reason to consult a doctor before dieting. Also of interest, if you check the slimfast label and compare it to the weight gain drinks for bodybuilder, guess what, they read the same. Its just how much and how often you use them that makes the difference. You also didn't say how much weight you want to lose, that is also important. Crash dieting is usually not real healthy, but you could talk with your doctor now and start working toward the March goal NOW and give your body a little more time to adjust. Start excersizing and counting calories for a good start. Best of luck with the diet and the wedding.

Well, no one can predict the exact amount you will lose. Everyone is different. Some people lose weight much quicker than others. This is something I learned throught weight watchers: If you skip meals, or don't eat enough calories, your brain will tell your body that you are starving it, and your metabolism then slows way, way down. Having 2 slimfasts a day is fine, but have the fruit cup in between the slimfasts. Actually, unless they are sugar free, you would be better having a piece of fresh fruit. For the third meal it is important to eat a well balanced diet. maybe 5oz. of white meat chicken (the breast with skin removed before cooking) and a cup of fresh or frozen vegtables, and a whole grain starch (not white). If you choose to have pasta, then whole grain is your best choice, but limit it to one cup. Lean beef (fat trimmed off), or fish can be substituted for the chicken. Be sure to eat 2 healthy snacks each day...fruit or veggies, or maybe one graham cracker with peanut butter, or a few nuts (almonds are best). Eating throughout the day will keep your metabolism burning at it's highest level. Eating this way can help you lose possibly 10 or more pounds. For every 10 pounds lost, you lose 1 dress size!!!!! Good luck to you and congratulations on your wedding!

I'm doing the slim fast thing now, its worked for me before, one for breakfast, one for lunch, a piece of fruit during the day for a snack, eat a sensible dinner, i:e: meat portion, salad, 2 veg's, maybe fruit for dessert, 1 cup milk. just watch your portions and don't stuff yourself, pay attention to what your body is telling you, if you feel a little hungry most often I think your on the right track. Drink lots of water and stay away from sweet stuff, especially sodas. I know it doesn't sound like a lot if you only lose 2-3 pounds a week but in 6 months that would be 50 pounds ! Good luck I hope this helps.

Don't drink Slimfast. Have you read the label?
The 4 main ingredients are skim milk, sugar, fructose, and cocoa. In other words, milk, sugar, and sugar.

My advice, make your own smoothies. You can purchase low carb protein powder, sometimes Walmart carries it or go to your local health food store.

In a blender add low/no fat, no sugar added frozen yogurt, or buy plain yogurt (Don't buy flavored yogurt as it has sugar too), add some frozen fruit, 1/2 banana, wheat bran, natural peanut butter (or not), 1 tsp of Splenda to sweeten and blend.

Drink up!

Keep your diet balanced, eat SMALL portions throughout the day. Try to stay away from sugar, high fructose corn syrup & hydrogenated fats.
Start exercising, Go out for jogs/walks. If you're not used to exercising then walk (at a fast pace) a block and then jog as far as you can, walk a little more and then jog again. Do this every day for 30 -40min per day.

How much do u have 2 lose? Go get some "L-Carneitine" at the drug store where the diet pills are. I got mine at Any drug store.
Take one a day. I was 310 now I am 260. It took me about 6 or 7 months. Never lose weight fast. You will gain back just as fast. Trust in the Lord to help too.

It's the answer you don't want to hear, but it all depends on your individual body chemistry and genetic predispositions. As a rule of thumb, though, don't fast. It will throw your body so out of whack that as soon as you return to a normal diet, you'll put on just as much if not more weight than before. My advice. DO LOTS OF CARDIO. Hit the gym hard, eat in small portions throughout the day, stay away from complex carbs like bread, sweets, fried foods, etc., eat lot's of protein and vegetables, again do lot's of cardio, and maybe even buy a b vitamin supplement to boost your metabolism. Do all that you'll probably lose enough weight that it will be noticeable.

I don't know about the fruit cups whenever you are hungry...fruit is good for you but it is loaded with natural sugar, and if they are the ones that have juice in them they are packed with sugar! Try snacking on raw veggies, like broccoli, cauliflower, and baby carrots. You will also need to start exercising, it is the key to real weight loss! Ride a bike for 30 minutes a day or take a brisk walk anything to get that heart rate up. Depriving yourself of food can have an opposite effect and just slow your metabolism down, so start exercising to ensure that you burn the calories that you eat daily as well as the fat you want loose.

Best of luck to you and congrats on the wedding!

yeah , you will take off the weight. But the second you eat something else besides that, the weight will come back on. If you don't eat the amount of calories that your body physically needs, then your body goes into what people call starvation mode. It realizes that it's not getting the food it needs, so it starts to store everything as fat. EVERYTHING. Even those slimfast shakes will be stored as fat if you don't take in at least 1200 calories a day. Don't believe me, try it.

its silly to put your body through a fast.. what happens when you deprive your body of food is that it goes into a type of shock almost and then anything you eat your body will store as fat to get you through the next presumed fast by your body..

so its not the best way to go about losing weight.. anyway you are going to feel light headed and dizzy and then crave everything you see or smell..

best thing to do is work out a meal plan and divide your food up into 5 portions a day.. check out www.weighless.co.za for some good food choices and tasty menus that should get you losing weight.. also on that website is some exercises that really work..

good luck for losing weight the healthy way

i'd say, if you are getting married in may, you can stop worrying about the crash diet thing and just take a more sensible approach and follow a healthful eating plan while doing some exercise. then, when it gets to be one month before your wedding, find some other seamstress without the attitude problem your current one has and have the HER alter your dress if you need it. Losing weight in a month isn't your problem here, its the cranky seamstress who is the problem.
