Today, one year ago, my ex-fiance died. I am still sad about this, and I really miss him. I have moved on like he wished, but I still miss him so much. I keep remembering all of the things he said, did, etc. My dad wants to go out somewhere, and it's great weather for going out, but I just can't seem to get over this sadness. Is there anything I can do to quickly get in a better mood and feel like getting out?

Hi, I'm so sorry to hear that you are still sad over your ex-fiance's death a year ago. I think the death of a loved one will never be forgotten. I too have lost loved ones in the past, and it took me years just to come to terms with their passing. I think one of the effective ways to get over your sadness is to get yourself involved in helping others, such as becoming a volunteer for the Salvation Army. I wish I could give you a better answer though.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I can't say I know how you feel. It could take a very long time to be able to move on with your life. However, keep in mind that he wants you to move one. Doesn't mean you have to get involved with someone else.

You dad must know what you are going through because at the same time he lost a son-in-law. I think it would do you good to go out with you dad and take your mind off things.

When I am feeling down and out, I find a hot bubble bath and a really good cry helps. Sounds funny, but it helps me out.

Give it a try :) Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

I'm sorry to hear about your ex-fiance.

It's normal to grieve about a year, or sometimes longer.

Try watching a funny movie, or go for a walk out in the sun before you go with your Dad. Getting out might be exactly what you need. And meanwhile, try to get counselling.

Feel better, and good luck!

The only thing I think you can do to quickly get in a better mood and feel like getting out of the house is to just get up and get out of the house. Force yourself to get out. Once you are out hopefully being with your dad will be a happy time and you will lift your spirits simply by surrounding yourself with love. Love of your family..

Can you go to a doctor and see if he can get you some meds for depression?
