any ideas on how I can get moved to elite level on frequent flyer programs?

I just missed making the gold level on united and northwest, any luck on getting the airlines to keep me at the same level?

See what other ways you can earn miles other than flying like getting an airline credit card, renting cars from a certain agency, etc. Read the program rules and regulations very carefully and find all the ways they allow you to earn miles.
