New Choice pregnancy test from Dollar Tree only costs $1 and is over 99% accurate. It is as accurate as the expensive tests you can get. A pregnancy test probably would work for you this close to your period. Even a very faint positive result is still positive. Pretty much, there's no such thing as a false positive, but if you take it too early it could falsely give you a negative. In that case take it again the next morning.... Good luck. : )

I was sort of in your same situation. I was very anxious to find out, took a test the day after my missed period (yesterday), and got dissapointed! The test had faint lines, (because I believe I'm only 2-3 weeks), which left me confused! I am waiting a couple days to retest. If you are PG, your hCG levels double or triple every day, so even waiting maybe a week longer will be even better. Then, you will have also had the chance to get your period if you aren't PG, and won't have to waste money on tests!

Surprisingly, cheap tests purchased at dollar stores or on the Internet are often more sensitive and reliable than expensive store brands. HPT's are like soda: very cheap to make, and marked up quite a bit for retail.

By going to the doctor... most accurate, and less likely to have a false positive or false negative.

I tried clearblue and it gave a very quick result. So.. it depends on how much u want to spend and how fast u want to know.
