What happens if you store your contacts for more than 6 months in a multipurpose solution?

The solution was still there but there was a smaller amount, but the whole lens was covered. I washed the case out twice and then procided to clean the lenses on my finders wiith rubbing action. Now they are soaking in a newly opened bottle of B&L.
