Hi,
If you change your credit arrangement to a foreign clime, and "start again"., then that is just it - a new system.
You will still be chased be overseas creditors, but time is the issue. You would have a considerable lee-way, but my humble advice is to pay off everything, then you sleep well at night, and can build up a credit reputation in whatevever country you are emigrating to.
I did similar when going ex-pat to The Sultanate of Oman.
Payed off everything in the UK, and started again on things like AMEX. again, all payed up for peace of mind.
It is true that certain credit people will write off a debt, if you go over-seas. But it will take years.
Have that peacful sleep, knowing that you owe nothing.
All the best,
Bob

you may be able to escape a bad UK credit rating, depending on where you go, but I would expect that if you go to a European, North American or Austrailia/New Zealand destination it will probably follow you.
Inforamtion sharing is not just a habit int he UK, its also a ahbit worldwide, and many banks have local subsiduaries

Have you applied for a credit report on yourself from the credit reference agencies. You will need to send them a cheque for £2 to obtain your report.
