I’m a muslim and I read parts of the Bible(not all the four Bibles),
I found things that get along with the spirit of Islam, and parts which I felt they were added, and after reading it,my faith that is Islam the true relgion grew up,and I thank God in every moment I am a muslim.
Peace be with you.

It's not a necessity, however it is a good thing to read, like any other historically or religiously important book. Education is the key!
One of my favorite scholars, Ahmad Deedat, memorized both the Quran and the Bible and often had open debates (of the peaceful, knowledgable kind) with others.

Muslims don't have to read the bible, but its nice to know about other religion. I being a Muslim want to keep a knowledge about christianity, hinduism not because of any other reason but just to have a knowldge about every religion. As tomorrow someone ask me soemthing i can answer them without asking anyone about what happens in a bible or anyother religion book.
And thats exactly what you all are doing passing comment on a religion what you don't even know ABC about. Read the Quran first understand it then and then pass your stupid comments about the religion.

Well, not the whole Bible, just the Old Testament maybe;) why not?
The Holy Quran refers to facts and characters the Old Testament tells about; so reading it would just widen a Muslim's knowledge of Patriarchs and Prophets; for those who are interested, of course. I believe that nobody should be 'forced' to read anything if they don't want to, however, learning new things, understanding different perspectives, exchanging views is a good thing in my opinion.

the Koran recognized the Pslams, the First 5 books of the Bible (the Torah) and the gospels (the New Testament) as books from God on paper
in reality they are banned books in many Muslem countries... from God but banned... the content of the books is effectively discarded
Mohamed commanded Christians and Jews to check their books and see that the Koran is true and this is a wise test in my estimation.
Yet, there have always been serious differences causing modern Islamic theologians to take a position that the books were good but are now corrupt... but how then could Mohamed off his test in the 7th century... makes no sense to me and it puts Mohamed in a serious delimna

Hmm... By that definition I will write the next and newest and most improved scripture and it will all be true because I said so and Muhammed came to me saying all in the Qu'ran is wrong. No I wouldnt do that but that is the way the Qu'ran came into existaence and is still followed God reveals his truth and it does not disagree with his previous word or his prophets. God is more tha capable of keeping his word pure and has done so. When scripture and false prophets arise you can easily see they are not in agreement with God and dismiss them for we who belong to God do recognize our fathers voice and he is in agreement with his word and his prophets are in agreement with him
