Whenever my beagle see's us eating food or anything like that he gets all hyper jumping around and etc, BUT never jumps up, was he deprived of food as a young beagle, or was he a runt maybe and his mom didnt feed him? Also, whenever we go to feed him he starts jumping around and eats it down in like 2 seconds, he's a maniac eater!!
What can i do?

my goldens do the same thing... beagles need tons and tons of exercise,, they were meant to be out hunting for hours and hours,,, exercise him alot, and when you feed him, put tennis balls in the bowl with the food,,, it will slow him down as he will have to pick and eat around the tennis balls... have fun - your dog is normal

Sounds like an average Beagle! This is one of those always acts like they are starving breeds - and therefore very prone to obesity, and the perils that come with it - pancreatitis, diabetes, etc. Don't fall into the trap of feeding him more to avoid these problems down the road.
p.s. the tennis ball (or softball) in the bowl thing is good - as long as he doesn't take it out, as my sister's 'always starving' Labrador learned to do!

You do realize that the other name for a Beagle is "Chow Hound" don't you? When you pick your Beagle up to give it a love,,, and you think it is saying "hold me - hold me", if you look around what it is really saying is "hold me closer to the food".
As a Beagle owner it is your responsibility to control the dogs intake because they will "eat it all" if given the chance.

There's probably nothing wrong, but some dogs are bad about begging. Especially if they have actually been fed after begging before.

um thats wat pets do ya migh as well try feeding him that would be a good idea or he would probably die so ya i think u should feed him if the mom isnt cuz hell probably die someday of hunger im just guessing here i dont really know anything about beagles lo l srry but try that

There is probably nothing wrong with your dog, my dog does the same thing.your dog probably just gets hungry easily.
