I'm 33, my girlfriend is 18, what do Americans think about that?

I'm not from the US but would like to know opinions from Americans about the age difference in my relationship. In my culture, age difference is not important for a relationship. In fact, older men are usually preferred over younger men. I'm 33 and average looking but girls believe I have a nice personality and qualities. I have many 18 to 20 year old girls who would like to be my girlfriends. However, I'm totally devoted to my current girlfriend who's 18. I feel she's the most wonderful sweet little princess in the universe and she has similar feelings toward me. She says none of her previous boyfriends even comes close to me. We will probably marry when she finishes college. You are free to criticize my relationship or to offer your support. Please just be sincere and tell me what you really think. We o have many things in common. Probably in the US 18 year old girls are still very immature and 33 year old men are very mature. In my culture, girls are more mature and ready for marriage from a very young age. Men here don' have a job and don't want responsibilities. My girlfriend says I'm very mature and I do have a good job so I'm different to others. Probably that is the reason so many girls 18 and younger are after me. Thanks.

You are almost twice her age. Personally I do not need a father figure. I do, however, prefer men about 10-12 years older than me. Women mature much faster than men, so a man about 10 years older than me has about the same interests and maturity level as myself. It's good that she is going to finish college so she doesn't have to depend on financially...she can support herself if need be and be an indepenent woman.

This older man likes me and in his country it is okay for a 30 something year old to be with lets say a 16 year old; in America the relationship is ok (meaning no jail time) if the female is 18 and older

At 18,your girlfriend is an adult and entitled to take her own decisions.If u guys have perfect understanding and mutual respect between the two of u,there's no harm in it.Understanding is a vital factor in this sort of relationships(having a big age gap).If both of you are matured enough to understand and respect each other,u may not face any problems.But u must not underestimate her because of her age.good luck:)

if u both love each other want to live together then go a head
dont care about what the world says if ur love love's u n she's supporting u then why do u bother about the world society or people let them say what they want to

I wonder why it is important to you what Americans think. Are you going to live in the US when you marry? Even if so, that shouldn't matter to you.

I mentioned awhile back that a my neighbor had Married an 18 year old high School girl. He met her when she was 16.

She's 18 so thats legal anyways, i dont really see anything wrong with it, especially if you are foreign..no offense but foreign men seem to like younger women but i guess theres nothing wrong with that
