Which actions? If you're talking about the alleged "slaughter of the innocents," then I'd have to say-- "imaginary." It never happened. The historian, Josephus, who lists many of Herod's actions both great and small, makes no mention of this incident, news of which surely would have spread even in an era with no printing press. The story is simply a retelling of ancient myths surrounding many heroes and saviors (such as Mithra), in which the infant savior narrowly misses escape from death by those who wish him dead.

Misrepresented. That's my word. His actions were reported by those who opposed him, hardly the most objective source. I have no idea of what either Herod really did or why he/they did it, and neither does anyone else. You can "believe" what you like about his actions, but you can't "know" based upon an understandably biased account. There were obviously many who supported what the Herod's were doing or they wouldn't have had the power that they were accused of misusing.

I think that the end results ofhis choices in life was the :'wages of sin" -------death!

Foretold. " There will be a great wailing; Rachel weeping for her children, for she will search and find him not, and will not be comforted"... His hand was turned to act so this scripture would be fulfilled, not by his choice, but by God. I believe he became despised as a murdurer of children.
