Definately a Shih-Tzu, although they are a small dog, not medium.
I had one for about 16 years and he was the most faithful little man any-one could ask for.
He as affectionate and loving, although at times a little brat.
He would eat just about anything, especially ice-cream, and he had a real sweet tooth.
Many times I would get up in the morning and if I left sweets lying around they weren't there any more.
He would 'pinch' a loaf of bread and take it to his favorite hiding place and bury it. What for? Who knows, but he had fun.
If you were after a small dog, this is one that I would definately recommend for you, as they are great with kids also.

OK i have an awsome dog for some. Austalian Sheperds (please excuse the spelling) are very friendly stick very close to home and are a good size. The only thing is the do shed. It is hard to find a dog that doesn't. For companinship the are very loyal. Size wise the aren't a lap dog. The also don't do well in small living areas, so if you own an appartment this isn't the dog for you. With any question just e mail me and i would love to talk more.
Taiming i found was very easy. I got my dog to do normal tricks but also jumping and opstical courses. I am only 13 so a young person could even train this dog. Please don't think my age means don't know this dog becuase i do.
Good Luck!

I would go down to your local animal shelter and visit. there are so many nice, friendly dogs that need homes. take a look it is possible that one will catch your eye and melt your heart. many many fabulous dogs are adopted out of shelters everyday!!!! talk to the shelter workers i am sure each has a favorite, they will be able to help you and answer any questions you may have. another reason to adopt from the shelter is that most dogs do come with some training. Good Luck.
My favorite breed: is a nice friendly dog. I work with dogs all day and i have a favorites in all breeds. My dog is a Border Collie, he is awsome, but not a breed for everyone.

In my adventure, the canine breeds that are the least probable to strengthen human aggression subjects are the Pug, Beagle, English Bulldog, and Boston Terrier. i haven't relatively seen an occasion of any of those breeds that i might say had a extreme aggression situation, although I easily have met considered one of those fearful Beagles. properly-bred Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Pit Bulls, and Greyhounds may be marvelous up there as properly. on the different hand are the breeds that are maximum probable to be aggressive. I easily have under no circumstances had a delightful adventure with a Yorkie. in certainty, of the 50 or so Yorkies that I easily have encountered, i might say all 50 had some form of aggression situation. Chow Chows, Akitas, and Chihuahuas are marvelous up there as properly. yet, i might say that the main aggressive canine breeds are the countless breeds of Terrier from Scotland, the Scottish Terrier, West Highland White Terrier, Cairn Terrier, Dandie Dinmont Terrier, and Skye Terrier. Scotties and Westies particularly are very bitey canines.

I have a lab and she is wonderful. She has shorter hair than most but she still sheds. I brush her with a shedding blade every other day for a few minutes and sweep often, but she is worth every second. Make sure to get an AKC one and choose a good breeder - labs are popular and there are always tons of them for sale.
Again, you will need a good broom, but you will love the baby. She is the first big dog I have ever had and we want to get another one already!

I have a great Dane mix and she is awesome! sheds very little, gets along with the cat and loves the kids. she listens well and was very easy to potty train. The mixed part in her kept her shorter than a purebread dane. she weighs alot though at 9 months she weighs 85lbs.but she is sweet natured, sits, gives her paw and learned the "no" command very early on.she is friendy to a point unless your someone that hasnt been in the home before...like the mailman!!! she is an excellent watchdog! Great breed!!

unquestionably a standard poodle. Tremendously bright, loving., nonagreessive and easily trained. In spite of the fact that grooming a consideration, this dog is all dog. Originally bred for retrieving and guard work, although i have never seen one that showed aggressive tendencies.
