Saw it written on Jessica Simpson's T-shirt for the video of 'With you' and it completely threw me.

Plata-ma-pus is not a real word. The correct word is Platypus, which is an Australian animal which has the fur of a beaver and the bill of a duck. Jessica Simpson is not an intellectual type

"Plata-ma-pus" is a cute play on the word "platypus", which is the name of an animal. I think the second answerer might have the right explanation for the reason she has a t-shirt of this word.
