I would suggest you call your doctors office and speak with the secretary--explain your symptoms and ask to have referrals for the test prepared for you to pick them up, and book the visit with your doctor for a later date, when the results of the tests will most likely come back. To see a doctor without tests may be a waste of time indeed, but let the secretary advise you, she/he consults with the doctor. Get well soon!

you have diabetes
just because you had a test a year ago does not mean you are not diabetic
it could have been subclinical diabetes then
you can never waste a doctor's time when it comes to your health
that is what he is there for
don't wait until you loose your sight have cardiovascular problems or a stroke
you should have a fasting blood sugar and 2 hr. pp which is a blood test 2 hours after you eat
you should also have a blood test called an a1c which shows your blood levels for the last 3 months
they were watching me for almost 30 years for latent diabetes after i had high glucose levels during pregnancy
and just 3 years ago found i had slightly above normal blood levels of glucose when i was in the hospital to have my gall bladder removed
i had absolutely NO symptoms since the pregnancy 30 years ago
and had no symptoms prior to having the gall bladder surgery 3years ago
but my doctor continued to check at least once a year for signs in my blood work
thousands of people are walking around with diabetes and do not know it until the damage is done and it becomes an acute situation
you definitely have the symptoms that signal there is a problem

Being constantly thirsty could be the medication you are on. Get a blood test to be safe for blood sugar. If you are peeing a lot also it could be diabetes. I have both symptoms sometimes but I'm OK. Get your eyes checked soon by an eye doctor

You would not be wasting your Docor's time, but you will be buying yourself some peace of mind. You pay the doctor -- he works for you. All of the doctors I know would much rather examine you and find nothing than find something. The symptoms you describe sound like warning signs of diabetes, but could be nothing more than thirst and growing older. Just to make sure you should see your doctor. Afterall, what if you didn't go because you didn't want to waste your doctor's time -- that could be devastating.

Yes, I would go.
Try this little test. Next time you are thirsty, eat a banana. Seriously! If your thirst goes away, you probably do have Diabetes. Instead of seeing your primary physician, ask for a referral to an Endocrinologist, instead.

I agree with all of the suggestions to see a physician. You have some symptoms of diabetes, of your blood sugar being high. Another symptom I have not heard mentioned here is of an increased need to urinate, and producing lots of urine. It is also usually frothy. You can also always go by your local EMS provider and ask a fingerstick blood sugar test. That will give you an idea, and they can offer other options. Remember, you do not have to be transported by them if you do not wish to do so. Regardless, you need to see a doctor.

I am not a doctor but I would definitely go back to the doctor and let them know what your symptoms are. They may want to check you for diabetes again or run different test. Either way it sounds serious enough to take action. Take care of yourself.

Diabetes can develop very quickly and your symptoms sound very much like those associated with diabetes. Go and get the test just to be on the safe side.
