dog has been perfect.... no accidents in four years... well cared for, frequent walks, no change in diet, no change in appearance of poops, but when we got up in a.m. the last three days, there were poop piles each day. no other behavior changes.

Since there's been no changes in diet or behavior, you should take the dog to the vet along with a poop sample. He/she may have some sort of problem that's causing her to not to be able to hold it.

If there's no sign of disease or parasite, is the dog mad at you for some reason? My pug will do this she's upset with me.

He is house trained and this is not his normal behavior so take him to the Vet. There is some underling cause.
