Hi and happy birthday! The Motorola V3 RAZR is a great phone, but you could also try the Motorola KRZR which is smaller and slimmer.
If you think you're going to use the camera alot, check out the Sony Ericsson K800i Cyber-shot phone, or the Nokia N73, both of which have 3.2 megapixel cameras in them.
If you're looking for a phone which plays music as well, maybe the Sony Ericsson W850i Walkman phone would suit: It's got a 2 megapixel camera, a Walkman player built in AND comes with a 1GB memory card for heaps of music or photos.
Personally I prefer the Sony Ericsson phones to the Motorolas, I've used all of the phones above, but the K800i is my current phone. (I've got an iPod, so don't need the music features of the W850i. It's an awesome phone though...)
There's a great site which has a few reviews of just the latest mobiles, plus some links through to some really good deals online. Check it out:

Hope that helps!

Do not buy a V3 razr. Not worth it. My friends have had them, they've dropped them, and now they are in phone heaven. They are really nice looking phones, but they are VERY flimsy. If you want a motorola like that, go for a KRZR or a RAZR v3X 3g phone, it has a memory card hole (and my friends came with one) so plenty of memory, looks really nice, you can get it in many colours and is stylish. It also has Bluetooth.

Hi the Razr is an ok phone however it only has 5meg of memory so if your like evry teen wanting tunes and pics and vids on your phone your not gonna get many it also has glass covering the screen and if you were to drop t it would break and thats gonna hit you £40 for a new piece of glass. as for reliabillity my g/f phone totally reset itself just yesterday so could be some software issues with but its upto you... happy birthday when you reach it

A razor with irritation problems...well, there's always those nasty 'Bics'. But seriously - the Razr is a fine piece of kit (I've had one for 12 months - and as I'm nearly 50, suspect I'm only using 25% of its functions!)...but there's better - Motokrzr performs good - but how about looking at other makes - like Samsung?

I spent £200 on one of these, was a pink one for my partner, was last christmas i think (2005).
In use, we soon found it wasn't as good as we'd hoped. Only seemed to hold aout 2 songs i think, video recording had to be activated somehow, wasn't actually there, and kept having problems with the inside (main) screen. Sometimes opened flip, and display was all muddled up.
Don't know if mine was a dodgy build, but i had it from brand new, open to any network and thats my experience of it, still have it here (not in use) and it's terrible to be honest.

I'm in my 60's and like most of my age, I find silky smooth things hard to manipulate. I had a Nokia before and that was far more user friendly and quick to use compared to the much wider smoother razor.
But how do you tell your son that you don't want it after he bought it as Xmas present, I'm stuck with it

my razor is annoying! There is dust under the screen that can't be cleaned, it makes a bad high pitch squeal when I'm using it, calls come in sounding crazy at times randomly, and a lot of other just stupid things have happened with it that I don't remember.
