Recite a mantra and calm down. My favorite actually comes from the book Dune, by Frank Herbert.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Read it, understand what it's saying about what fear is, and then face your fear...

Good advice.

I have the worst time trying to relax during exams. I just had mine this past week. Some things that worked for me were getting a good amount of sleep 6-7 hours a night, starting and ending at the same times. When you have regulated sleep patterns it is easier for your body to function which helps you relax. Taking deep breaths, picturing yourself on a beach without any tests, or having warm drinks like tea, cocco, or coffee also help. Studying hard can also help, because if you know you are ready for a test you will automatically relax.

Drink lots of fluids, get plenty of sleep, don,t leave study to the last minute, eat small , light meals regularly, take a walk or swim before you start the day.

And prepare yourself earlier , perhaps during the study time prior to exams, by selecting good easy listening music, or relaxation music like the waves, and birds, or the wonderfully relaxing sound of the harp or flute, so you can wear head phones and listen to your favourite music to work to.
Learning to breathe correctly too helps to heep brain active but also is a relaxant, muscles relax and is the best way to be able to deal with fear, panic immediately it shows its horrible head.
Breathing excersises are a must to get stale air out, good air in, helps the concerntration, and as I say relaxes the whole body.
Eat a piece of fresh fruit, or if allowed take a plate of fresh cut fruit to nibble on, is really great to keep alert, keep natural sugars up, very refreshing .
Put these suggestions on a piece of paper, start working on them as early as possible, and put them into order of what works best and then learn them so well they become 2nd nature.
Now prep yourself for the big event, and I am sure once you have masterd these, you will never need to ask again, because you will never forget how to really relax but work well too.
Good luck

I am 60 years old and I never got nervous during exams in my schooling and college days. I attribute this to following :--
1) Slept full 8 hours at night before the examination day.
2) Listened to music on radio ( no tv or music players at that time) for at least 30 mins to one hour.
3) Remained with family members for at least 30 mins to one hour.
4) Did not study in the morning of the exam day if exam was in the first shift.

Best of luck to you.
